In July 2020, the 3 Corações Group, which operates in the Brazilian coffee market, completed the acquisition of Mitsui Alimentos’ roasted and ground coffee division. The transaction amount was BRL 216M. Mitsui Alimentos is a subsidiary of the Japanese company that holds brands such as Café Brasileiro, .br Gold (special), 3 Fazendas, among others. The agreement with Mitsui also includes the line of soluble, chocolate, capsules, and drip coffee, two roasted and ground coffee plants, in Araçariguama (SP) and Cuiabá (MT), as well as a distribution center in Campo Grande (MS). The acquisition is part of the expansion plan of 3 Corações in Brazil, now focusing on the Midwest of the country.
